Overview

This breeding AI analyzes winning horse pedigrees to recommend stallions that are statistically most likely to produce successful offspring when bred to your mare.

Step 1: Choose Database

Select which database to use:

• Futurity Horses: Focuses on futurity competition winners (ped.csv)
• Rodeo & Futurity: Includes both rodeo and futurity winners (pedandfut.csv)

Step 2: Enter Mare Pedigree

QHR Live Fetch (Recommended): Type the mare's registered name in the Fetch from QHR box and press Enter or click 🔍. The full 5-generation pedigree plus year of birth, sex, and colour are fetched automatically — no copy/paste required. Requires qhr_proxy.php in the same folder on the server.

✓ Tip: QHR provides official AQHA pedigrees with up to 5 generations!

Alternative Entry: Click "Show Alternative Entry" for:

• Manual entry of pedigree fields
• HTML upload from AllBreedPedigree.com

📄 Using AllBreedPedigree.com

AllBreedPedigree provides comprehensive pedigree data for many breeds:

1. Open AllBreed: Click "Open AllBreed" button or go to allbreedpedigree.com
2. Search: Enter the horse's name and select from results
3. Save the page: Press Ctrl+S, choose "Webpage, HTML Only", save to your computer
4. Wait for download: IMPORTANT! The file download can take several seconds. Wait until your browser shows the download is complete before closing the page or navigating away.
5. Upload: In "Alternative Entry", click "Upload HTML" to load your saved file

⚠️ Tip: If parsing fails, the file download may not have completed. Try saving again and wait for the download to fully finish before leaving the page.

Step 3: Analyze

Select your target event and click "Analyze & Recommend" to get:

• Top Stallion Lines: Proven sires in your discipline
• Top Bloodlines: Frequently appearing bloodlines
• Proven Nicks: Successful crosses with your mare's bloodlines

Stallion Finder

Load stallion.csv to search for available stallions at stud. Click any bloodline name to find stallions with that bloodline.

Dosage Profile

Load dosage.csv to see dosage analysis in the hypothetical cross pedigree. The file should have columns: name and indic (s=Speed, m=Classic, c=Cowhorse). The combined dosage score is calculated from both stallion and mare ancestors.

Keyboard Shortcuts

Ctrl+Shift+L: Select any horse name and press to look it up on AllBreedPedigree.com

Ctrl+Shift+D: Select any horse name and press to find all descendants in the database. Results show name, regname, event type (Rodeo/Futurity), discipline, and rider. You can save the list to a text file or discard it.
